Our clinic is housed in Multnomah County, which rests on the traditional village sites of a diverse array of indigenous tribes and bands, some of whose descendants make up the living and vibrant communities of the Confederated Tribes of the Grand Ronde, Confederated Tribes of Siletz Indians, the Chinook, the Cowlitz and many others. Portland is also home to people from over 400 different Native American tribal nations.
We all come from Indigenous people who stewarded the Earth. Today, Indigenous people makeup 5% of the current human population, steward over 50% of the land and protect more than 80% of the Earths remaining biodiversity. We recognize that a healthier planet and healthier bodies for all of us require that colonial governments give the land back and that communities center Indigenous leadership. The Local Healer donates 10% of our profits to supporting the restoration of salmon habitat in the Pacific Northwest in conjunction with Indigenous leadership.
